Hockey Upsets Pascack Valley in Big North Gold Cup Tourney
Cutters avenge two regular season losses to the Indians

Sixth-seeded topped third-seeded Pasack Valley on Saturday night, 5-3, using a balanced offensive attack to pull off a first-round upset in the Big North Gold Cup tournament.
The Cutters (11-8-4)—who got goals from Jim Prigge, Mikael Cortes, Matt Hearon, Kevin Carney and Jon Polyak—will face top seed Ridgewood on Tuesday night, 7:15 p.m. at the Ice Vault in Wayne.
Fair Lawn dropped both of its previous games to Pasack Valley this season by scores of 4-2 and 5-2. Hearon scored unassisted to put the Cutters up 3-1 in the second period Saturday, and Carney's third-period goal made the score 4-2 in Fair Lawn's favor.

Dan Prigge made 23 saves for the Cutters. Polyak, Prigge, Carney, Jeff Frenkel and Kevin Northrop all notched assists in the win.
