The Fair Lawn lacrosse team saw its season come to an end Saturday when it fell to Monroe 5-4 in the first round of the NJSIAA Group 3 Tournament.
Sixteenth-seeded Fair Lawn cut the deficit to one on a goal with less than three minutes left, but a defensive stand by 17th-seeded Monroe kept the Cutters from scoring the tying goal.
With the defeat, the Cutters finish their season with a 10-7 record.
