Teen Ambassador Supports March for Babies [Photo Gallery]

Zachary Stein, a 17-year-old Fair Lawn High School student and March of Dimes ambassador participated in Sunday's March for Babies in Wayne.

and his father Bob participated in the March of Dimes March for Babies in Wayne Sunday morning.

The March serves as a celebration of premature babies who have been saved by medical treatment and also honors those babies who were not so fortunate.

Zachary represents one of the babies who was saved.

Born five-and-a-half weeks premature, Zachary spent his earliest days receiving treatment in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit developed from March of Dimes research.

Now a 17-year-old junior special education student at , Zachary is a longtime March of Dimes ambassador who has participated in the annual March of Dimes March for Babies with his family for the past 15 years.

Through his fundraising efforts for the March of Dimes over the years, Zachary has been interviewed on radio and for magazine articles, appeared in a televised public service announcement, thrown out the first pitch at a New Jersey Jackals game and . His prolific fundraising abilities even earned him and his younger brother, Brad, the 2006 Brunguard Award for Youth Fundraising.
