Kindergarten students at are embracing green initiatives at an earlier age than most.
After learning about stormwater pollution from Monica Moscovici, a master gardener and member of the Green Team Advisory Committee, the students decided to put a rain garden in back of the school. The Board of Education dug up the site, and on Thursday students designed the garden by deciding where to put plants on a mixture of soil, sand and compost.
"It'll take maybe a week to acclimate," Moscovici, who also helped students with soil and filtration tests, said.
