In the 9th Congressional District, long-time incumbent Bill Pascrell, Jr. faces two incumbent challengers in Zinovia Spezakis and Alpaslan "Alp" Basaran.
Pascrell, 83, underwent a successful heart procedure on Sunday, according to a statement from his office.
He is in his twelfth term as elected Congressman, first in New Jersey's 8th district, then the 9th after the district was reconfigured and renumbered.
Of six Democratic candidates and two Republican candidates, two will become members of the Board of Chosen Freeholders.
Vice Chairwoman Joan M. Voss is up for reelection, and Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache has his name on the ballot, as do Daniel Kim, Laura Occhipinti, Edmund Fanning and Patricia Henry on the Democratic ballot.
Republicans Ronald Kistner and Simone Tsigounis will also seek the two seats of the Board.
In the Senate race, incumbent, and former presidential-hopeful Cory Booker faces challenger Lawrence Hamm, an activist from Newark.
Hamm has been a relentless voice for civil rights since high school, when he spearheaded a student takeover of a local hotel to demand better facilities and an end to a teacher's strike.
That display of leadership earned him an appointment to the Newark Board of Education, making him the youngest school board member in the United States at the age of 17.
