"The procedure should allow the congressman to get back to his active lifestyle. While recovery varies from patient to patient, because of the congressman’s strength and normal heart function, I am confident that he will have a speedy recovery and be back serving the people of New Jersey within days," he said in a statement.
The Congressman was also tested for COVID-19, according to the release, and his results are negative.
Pascrell is in his twelfth term as elected Congressman, first in New Jersey's 8th district, then the 9th after the district was reconfigured and renumbered.
He faces two challengers for his 9th District seat in tomorrow's primary election in Zinovia Spezakis and Alp Basaran.
