Skyline Theatre Offers Arts Scholarship

Bergen County High School students interested in pursuing a career in the arts are eligible for the $1,000 cash scholarship

Skyline Theatre, a Bergen County professional theater company that produces plays and musicals at the , is offering a scholarship for area high school students interested in pursuing a career in the arts.

The Harry K. Berkheiser Jr. Scholarship, a $1,000 cash scholarship named for the New Jersey educator and founding Skyline Theatre member, will be awarded to a local high school senior who is entering college and majoring in theatre, television, film or communications.

“This scholarship is truly part of Harry’s legacy.” Skyline's Artistic Director Sam Scalamoni said. “We at Skyline are so proud to be able to extend this scholarship for young people who show a true commitment and dedication to these branches of the arts.”

Applications for the Harry K. Berkheiser Scholarship, found on the Skyline Theatre website, must be submitted via U.S. mail, postmarked no later than March 15.

The submissions will be reviewed by a committee of the Skyline Theatre Board of Trustees and the cash scholarship will be awarded to the winner at this year’s Skyline gala “Concert of Stars” on April 22 at the Saddle Brook Marriott.
