The Week Ahead: Spotlight on Radburn, Public Meetings Back in Full Swing
Radburn's Board of Trustees votes on a revised Daly Field contract Monday, the Radburn Players theater group opens its fall show Friday, and the Borough Council resumes its meetings.

With Election Day 2010 in the rearview mirror, the spotlight in Fair Lawn shifts to this week.
On Monday, the Radburn's nine-member Board of Trustees for the sale of Daly Field to Landmark, L.L.C. Landmark plans to build 165 housing units on the controversial property, including 63 on Radburn-owned Daly field (located at the intersection of Plaza Road, Berdan Avenue and Route 208) and 102 on the Landmark-owned Hayward Tract. Patch obtained a copy of the full contract, which is summarized and can be viewed
Since Landmark and Radburn signed the original contract in 2004, local grassroots groups and the Fair Lawn Borough Council have taken a stance against developing Daly Field in an attempt to keep the field green. But Lou Weiss, president of the Radburn Association, said the field will remain more than 50 percent green under Landmark's plan. Monday's board of trustees vote at Grange Hall, 29-20 Fair Lawn Avenue, is open for all Radburn residents to attend.

Grange Hall will also host the fall show of the Radburn Players, one of New Jersey's oldest continually operating theater groups, starting on Friday at 8 p.m., with weekend showings on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., and then more showings the following week on Nov. 19 and 20 at 8 p.m. Written by John Cariani, the play, , takes place on a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter in the town of Almost, Maine, where residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected ways. It's a mix of comedy and drama that is "sweet but not sappy" and has a "nice mix of realism and surrealism," director Christine O'Donnell said.
After a light slate of public meetings last week, with no Borough Council meeting due to Election Day this past Tuesday, the meetings return in full force this week. Here's the schedule:
