VIDEO: Meet David Rosado of Fair Lawn, North Jersey High School Basketball's Leading Scorer
Watch the video to see the basketball moves of borough resident David Rosado, who averaged better than 26 points per game this season
As a sophomore at basketball powerhouse Paterson Catholic High School, of Fair Lawn witnessed the school's closure, and upon transferring to Saddle River Day School (SRDS) "had to play a lot of catch-up because he wasn't known in this area," Rosado's stepfather Mike Martocci says.
The sixteen-year-old Rosado certainly caught up, and then some. He averaged 26.3 points per game this past season as a junior for SRDS, leading all high school players in North Jersey.
In the process, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound Rosado has helped turn around the SRDS basketball program, leading a team that won just a few games last year to a 10-15 record as well as a Group I state tournament berth earlier this month.

Though he isn't yet a senior, Rosado has already started visiting colleges in hopes of landing a basketball scholarship. He said he wants to play in the basketball heartland of North Carolina, and recently returned from visiting schools in that state including High Point University, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Lenoir-Rhyne University, Queens University of Charlotte, Winston-Salem State University, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Patch recently visited Rosado and Martocci at their Canger Place home. Watch the video to see Rosado's shooting and dunking skills, and to hear his thoughts on the past season at SRDS. Additionally, you can visit Rosado's website here.
