VIDEO: 'The Schmoozer' of WFAN 660, Live From Beth Sholom
Popular sportscaster Steve Somers visited Fair Lawn on Sunday morning
Speaking in front of a group that he called "larger than my radio audience," host Steve Somers of WFAN 660 AM in New York, known on air as "The Schmoozer," talked sports over breakfast at Sunday morning. Watch highlights from the event in the video at right.
Somers—an avid New York Mets and New York Rangers fan—has worked at WFAN for 24 years, at one point co-hosting the 10 a.m.-1 p.m. slot with Russ Salzberg in a program titled "The Sweater and the Schmoozer." Now, Somers can be heard anywhere from 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., depending on whether WFAN airs a sporting event that night.
Frequent callers to Somers' show include Jerry Seinfeld, who calls himself "Jerry from Queens." At Beth Sholom, Somers got to meet longtime caller "Kenny from Wyckoff."
