Welcome to Fair Lawn Patch!

We'll be your online hub for news and information

I'm editor Jacob Kamaras, and I'm proud to finally welcome you to Fair Lawn Patch!

I say "finally" because Fair Lawn Patch isn't anything new to me. It opened its virtual doors to the public today, Tuesday, Sept. 21–but for the past six weeks, I've been covering news, meeting local leaders, visiting community institutions, and engaging in other forms of intense preparation so our website can bring you all the essential news and information about this town on a real-time basis.

We will be reporting on all aspects of this community. Want to know what happened at last night's council meeting? We'll have it. Yesterday afternoon's soccer game? Check. Arts, columns, profiles, school news, crime? All here. You can sign up to receive breaking news e-mail alerts or a regular newsletter of stories from Patch (See the "Stay In Touch With Patch" box on our front page). You'll get the news in a variety of different ways–articles, photos, and video–and you'll get it as soon as possible after it breaks.

But Patch is about more than news. Here are some of the other features we offer:

Directory

Find out what's happening in Fair Lawn-Saddle Brookfor free with the latest updates from Patch.

Our directory includes detailed information about businesses, town agencies, civic organizations, parks and schools. That includes descriptions, phone numbers, Web addresses, hours, and anything else you need to know about community resources. We have been canvassing Fair Lawn to ensure the accuracy of this information, include photos with each listing, and infuse the listings with the local detail that you won't find anywhere else (but if we missed anything, let me know at jacob.kamaras@patch.com, and it won't stay missing for long).

Events and Announcements

The events calendar helps you find out everything that is happening in town each day, and the announcements page is a great way for you to share your important announcement with your neighbors–weddings, births, accomplishments, ongoing programs, obituaries, volunteer opportunities and much more. We constantly update both of these features, but sign up for Patch.com so you can post your own events and announcements. Make your mark on our site and ensure that your news is publicized!

Opinion

We will produce a number of regular columns about Fair Lawn on a wide range of topics. This is your platform, your chance to make your voice heard. If you are passionate about local issues, or have an idea for a regular series of opinion pieces or special features, please let us know! E-mail me at jacob.kamaras@patch.com with your letter to the editor, or your suggestion for a routine column. We only ask one thing: you keep your topic local to Fair Lawn. After all, that's what Fair Lawn Patch is all about.

About Me

I was the editor in chief of my student newspaper at Brandeis University, and since graduation I have worked as a sports writer and as a reporter for a weekly Jewish newspaper. I'm excited to bring together all of my skills and cover all phases of Fair Lawn. I'll always be in town to get the news, but I'm eager to hear from you about what should be on the site. E-mail me at jacob.kamaras@patch.com or call me at 201-994-6506 with your thoughts, tips and ideas. And get to know more about me at my Patch profile (I can't wait to read yours as well).
