Lebanon’s BSA Troop 200 Holds Fall Court of Honor

Troop celebrates 66 years of making an impact, Scouts recognized for achievements

Boy Scout Troop 200 held their fall Court of Honor on October 18, at Lebanon Reformed Church in Lebanon Borough. Andrew Bozzi and Ryan Walsh, served as emcees for the ceremony and Pastor Thomas Jones offered the opening and closing prayers. The event also marked the Troop’s 66th anniversary.

The following Scouts received merit badges during the ceremony:
· George Gregory: Cooking
· Jack Guan: Camping, Citizenship in the World, Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, Forestry, Personal Fitness, Swimming and Wood Carving
· Phillip LaBelle – Family Life and Personal Management
· Cameron Lutz: Citizenship in the World, Geology, Nature, Astronomy and Exploration
· Christian Marciante – Art and Leatherwork
· Owen Maslanka: Archery and Orienteering
· Bo Pardo: Family Life and Sustainability
· Ryan Senger: Camping, First Aid, Emergency Preparedness
· Oliver Sudol: Archery, Kayaking and Swimming
· Justin Verlin: Environmental Science, Personal Fitness, Photography, Astronomy and Geology
· Sean Verlin: Archery, Kayaking and Swimming

Troop 200 Scoutmaster, Jeff Lutz presented the new rank badges to scouts who advanced in rank since the last Court of Honor, including: Scout Rank - Jacob Ruffolo and Luke Strober; First Class, Ryan Senger and Ryan Walsh; Star, Bo Pardo and Ryan Senger; Life, George Gregory.

Eleven scouts earned the 50-miler patch which recognizes scouts who cover the trail, canoe or boat route of not less than fifty consecutive miles; take a minimum of five consecutive days to complete the trip without the aid of motors. Andrew Bozzi, Ian Bozzi, Russell Gauthier, George
Gregory, Jack Guan, Phillip LaBelle, Cameron Lutz, Ethan Lutz, John Martoccia, Owen Maslanka and Ryan Senger were recognized for this achievement which they earned during their summer trek to Philmont Scout Reservation in New Mexico.

Troop 200 Committee Chair, Ben Valliere thanked the troop’s Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmasters, all the adults serving on the Troop Committee, and those who volunteer as merit badge counselors, on boards of review, at courts of honor, at fundraising events and at summer camp. “Since 1955 Troop 200 has been making an impact in the lives of our Scouts, the community and world. Tonight’s awards and recognitions are a testament to our strong program and we should be very proud of the impact we’ve had since 1955 as we look forward to the future.”

Before closing out the event, Scoutmaster Lutz thanked outgoing Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) Justin Verlin and welcomed newly elected SPL, Owen Maslanka.

Troop 200 is a high-adventure, boy-led troop dating back to 1955. The scouts meet on Monday evenings during the school year at Lebanon Reformed Church located in Lebanon Borough, NJ.
