Man Who Hit Woman With Car Charged With Aggravated Assault: Hunterdon Prosecutor

A 62-year-old man who drove off the road and hit a 24-year-old woman in Clinton Township on Saturday faces multiple charges, officials say.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Clinton Township man was charged after he drove his vehicle off the road and hit a woman Saturday night, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Renée M. Robeson said.

Robeson said Kevin Stephenson, 62, was arrested July 9 after hitting the woman at the intersection of Deer Path Road and Old Mountain Road in Clinton Township.

"On Saturday night at approximately 9:40 pm, Mr. Stephenson drove his motor vehicle off the roadway and subsequently struck a 24-year-old female victim," Robeson said. The victim's condition is unknown at this time.

Stephenson faces charges of second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree assault by auto, fourth-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, "and other related motor vehicle violations," Robeson said.

Stephenson is in the Warren County Jail, Robeson said.
