Organic Coffee Cafe Expands To Open 4th Location In Flemington

FLEMINGTON, NJ — Ambee Coffee, owned by Bridgewater native Steven Chiocchi, is expanding to open its first Hunterdon County location in Flemington.

Chiocchi announced he is opening his fourth location at The Shoppes at Flemington, 100 Reaville Ave.

"This isn’t just another location, it’s the future of our food program. As we’ve grown, we’ve felt a deeper responsibility to take control of our ingredients, refine our sourcing, and create without compromise. Flemington will be our largest space yet, centered around a full-scale in-house bakery with a smaller café front," according to Chiocchi.

The Flemington location will operate predominantly as a bakery.

Chiocchi said he was piloting the bakery aspect at his Warren location on a smaller-scale production. It received a favorable response, prompting him to expand it further.

"We will be eliminating all third-party purchases and bake everything in-house," said Chiocchi.

This allows Ambee to focus on simple, organic ingredients.

"Right now, we can't tell the [third-party] baker what ingredients to use. So we are really excited to own that entire process from sourcing to the look and taste of everything," said Chiocchi.

By reducing reliance on third parties, Ambee is able to craft every product with purpose and intention.

Ambee is welcoming Catherine, a French-trained baker, who will be joining Kris, who helped pilot Ambee Bakery in Warren.

The goal is to open in late summer 2026.

Bound Brook Location Update

Chiocchi also provided an update for his Bound Brook location at The Rail, a 145-unit building on Hamilton Street.

"Bound Brook still on the way," said Chiocchi.

Delays with municipal permit approvals have pushed the opening to around the same time as Flemington - in late Summer.

"It is coming and we are still very excited," said Chiocchi.

The Flemington and Bound Brook locations will be in addition to Ambee's other locations in Somerville and Warren.
