Alleged Drug-Dealer Tries Evading Police On Palisades Cliff, Gets Rescued
Anthony Lora, 22, ran from police during an alleged drug transaction in the Palisades Interstate Park, authorities said.
FORT LEE, N.J. — A man who ran from police after a drug deal ended up climbing down the Palisades cliff and needed to be rescued, authorities said.
Members of the Palisades Interstate Parkway Police Department were purchasing narcotics in a stairway off Hudson Terrace in Fort Lee with Anthony Lora, 22, of Bronx, N.Y., police said.
Lora took off running through the woods, jumped the fence and scaled down the cliffs, police said. Officers converged on the scene above and below Lora on Henry Hudson Drive and Lora got stuck on a tree, police said.

Rappel teams responded to the scene and rescued Lora, injured, police said.
Lora was wanted on armed robbery charges by New York City Police. He was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending extradition to New York City.

Lora was charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, conspiracy to distribute ecstasy, resisting arrest by flight to create substantial risk if physical injury to public servant and unsworn falsification, police said. Additional charges are pending.
