Driver With Forged Registration, Suspended License, Arrested On GWB: Police

The Audi the man was driving had a broken windshield.

A New York man was arrested on the George Washington Bridge Tuesday afternoon after police caught him driving with no front license plate, authorities said.

Port Authority Police saw Roberto R. Payano, 26, driving a 2001 grey Audi with no front license plate and a broken front windshield, said Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo.

Payano handed Officer Leonel Gonzalez an expired New York drivers permit and an expired New Jersey registration but it did not match the temporary tag on the car, Pentangelo said; Payano told police he purchased the fake tag for $150.
