Fort Lee Fire Chief Retires After 43 Years
John Pascale was passionate about educating children about fire safety.

FORT LEE, N.J. — Chief John Pascale has retired from the Fort Lee Fire Department after 43 years.
Pascale held every rank of Palisade Co. No. 4 and was chief of the department in 1990. He was passionate about educating young children about the importance of fire safety.
"We are losing a valuable member of the department and company," officials posted on the fire company's Facebook page. "John has seen many evolutions to department. From horse and buggy to motorized apparatus. Hip boots to bunker boots. Air raid siren to text messages on your cell phone. John has helped in many ways."

The department wished Pascale "the best" on his retirement.
