Fort Lee Institutes No-Idling Policy: Report
Move is a part of borough to earn certification from Sustainable Jersey.

In an effort to attain certification from Sustainable Jersey, Fort Lee is instituting a no-idling policy.
“We’re reducing our carbon footprint and saving electricity,” Borough Administrator Al Restaino told NorthJersey.com.
Drivers will not be permitted to idle their vehicles for more than three minutes with the engine on and borough employees will encouraged to turn off all electronic devices when they leave to go home.

Sustainable Jersey is a non-profit that rewards municipalities that rewards municipalities and issues various levels of certifications based on how much they reduce their carbon footprint.
The borough earned a bronze certification from Sustainable Jersey in 2013.
