Fort Lee Man Commits Suicide, Jumps Off George Washington Bridge: Police
The 52-year-old man jumped off the bridge Saturday morning, police said.
FORT LEE, NJ. — Police are investigating the apparent suicide of a Fort Lee man who jumped off the George Washington Bridge Saturday morning.
Port Authority police confirmed a report at 8:40 a.m. Saturday that the 52-year-old man jumped from the bridge, said Port Authority spokesman Joe Pentangelo.
The man's body was later recovered, Pentangelo said.

It is the second suicide from the bridge this year. A 23-year-old man jumped to his death off of the New York side of the bridge earlier this month.
There were 12 suicides and 70 interventions form the bridge last year, said Pentangelo.

Eighteen people jumped to death from the bridge in 2015, police said.
