Fort Lee Man Strikes Woman Crossing The Street, Charged With Leaving The Scene Of An Accident: Prosecutor

Alexander T. Kim, 28, reportedly hit a woman crossing Brinkerhoff Avenue, authorities said.

FORT LEE, N.J. — A borough man was charged after authorities said he hit a woman crossing the street in Palisades Park Friday night.

Alexander T. Kim, 28, was charged after the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and Palisades Park Police Department investigated a vehicle that struck a woman who was crossing the street in Palisades Park, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said in a news release.

Police repsonded to a report at 7:40 p.m. that a person was hit by a vehicle on Brinkerhoff between 6th and 7th streets, Gerwal said. The vehicle fled the scene after the crash and the woman was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, the prosecutor said.

Authorities found motor vehicle parts from a black 2016 Kia Optima, which was identified as the vehicle that struck the woman, the prosecutor said.

The investigation revealed that Kim left the scene after the collision, Grewal said.

Kim was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in serious bodily injury and issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident, Grewal said.
