Fort Lee Police Holding Fundraiser For Girl With Cancer

Briana Lopez has been hospitalized since January, police said.

FORT LEE, N.J. — A borough police officer is working to help a little girl who has been hospitalized with cancer since January.

Briana Lopez has a rare form of cancer. She is a sixth-grader at School No. 3. To help her, Detective Nick Mircovich and Melissa Cuello, an administrative assistant with the department, are organizing a Zumbathon fundraiser next month called Arresting Cancer to help Lopez and her family.

The Zumbathon will be at the Jack Alter Community Center May 22 from noon to 2 p.m. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.
