Fort Lee Police Remind Public: No Drones at America 250 Events

Officials are urging attendees to leave drones at home to help ensure public safety.

FORT LEE, NJ — The Fort Lee Police Department is reminding the public that unauthorized drone flights are prohibited in and around America250 celebration events.

According to a notice, the restrictions are in effect July 1 through July 9 and apply to all America250 events in Fort Lee.

Officials are urging attendees to leave drones at home to help ensure public safety.

Violating the temporary flight restrictions could result in penalties including fines of up to $100,000, criminal charges, incarceration, and seizure of the drone.

Anyone who witnesses illegal drone activity is encouraged to report it by calling 911, contacting local law enforcement, or notifying the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
