Girl,7, Hit by Relative's SUV In Leonia, Police Confirm

Police confirmed that a 7-year-old girl was hospitalized after being run over in a parking lot Monday evening.

LEONIA, NJ — A 7-year-old girl was hit by an SUV driven by a relative and hospitalized with injuries, police in Leonia confirmed to Patch.

The incident happened on Monday, just before 8:30 p.m., and was first reported by the Hudson Daily Voice.

Police have ruled it an accident.

The SUV driver had just dropped off four passengers in a parking lot near the corner of Grand Avenue and Fort Lee Road when the girl was run over by a front tire, police said. She was then rushed to the hospital, but her injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
