Heat Forces Early Dismissal At Fort Lee Schools Thursday

A heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday.

FORT LEE, NJ — Borough schools will be on a minimal day schedule Thursday due to rising temperatures.

Elementary schools will be dismissed at 1 p.m.; the middle school will be dismissed at 12:40 p.m. and the high school at 12:09 p.m. All half-day and full-day pre-school will end at 11 a.m. Lunch will not be served.

A heat advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. Thursday. The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook.

The forecast for the rest of the week is:

Thursday night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. North wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Friday: A chance of rain before 9am, then a slight chance of rain after 2 p.m.. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 74. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60.
