UPDATE: Armed Robber Of Fort Lee Bank Caught In NYC: Police
The FBI and the Fort Lee Police Department arrested the robber, who is accused of stealing $50,000 from the Bank of New Jersey, police said.

UPDATE: The Fort Lee Police Department and the FBI arrested the alleged bank robber in New York City Friday, authorities said.
Neither the police nor the FBI could be reached for comment regarding the arrest.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Fort Lee Police Department and the FBI are investigating the theft of $50,000 during a robbery that happened at the Bank of New Jersey branch Thursday afternoon.

Chief Keith Bendul told NorthJersey.com that an "unknown suspect" robbed the Palisade Avenue bank with an "edged weapon" at 3 p.m.
The Daily Voice reported that the robber took $50,000 from the bank.

The Bergen County Sheriff's Office, FBI agents and police officers responded to the scene; the FBI is the lead investigating agency on the case, the chief said in the NorthJersey.com report.
Neither Bendul nor the FBI could be reached by Patch for comment Friday afternoon.
