Two cops were hurt and a man was shot Sunday in what authorities called an "officer-involved shooting."

Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal announced the arrest of Jaquan A. Suber, 29, of Fort Lee several hours after the incident. Suber was shot by Fort Lee Police officers after they responded to 485 Summit Ave.

Suber is currently at Hackensack University Medical Center receiving medical care and in police custody. The investigation of the shooting of Suber is ongoing.

Suber was charged with possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, specifically to use it unlawfully against Fort Lee Police officers, possession of a handgun without obtaining a permit and pointing a firearm under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference, specifically by pointing it at Fort Lee Police officers, Grewal said.

In a statement, Grewal said the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit was investigating the "officer-involved-shooting" outside of 485 Summit Ave. in Fort Lee.

Several Fort Lee officers were also taken to Englewood Hospital. The incident happened at 10:33 a.m. when Fort Lee Police officers and detectives were involved "in a use of force incident," police said.

Daily Voice reported that an unidentified man with a knife was shot and two Fort Lee police officers were injured during the confrontation.

NJ.com quoted Julene Stassou, a 44-year-old woman who lives on Edwin Avenue, who said she saw a "peculiar" man running in the rain Sunday morning toward Summit Avenue and called police soon after when she heard a few gunshots.

A police dispatcher told Stassou that officers were nearby, but she then heard another round of gunfire - about five or six shots, according to the report. "I said to my daughter, 'That's a gunshot,'" she said. "It was scary."
