Philly Man Arrested After Detectives Find $35K In Minivan

FORT LEE, NJ — A Philadelphia man was charged with money laundering after authorities found $35,000 in his minivan.
Michael De Castro, 22, was stopped driving a 2005 Honda Odyssey in Fort Lee Wednesday during a narcotics investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office, acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced.
While speaking with detectives, De Castro, who was the only one in the vehicle, tried to hide a bag with "suspiciously packaged" money under his seat, Calo said.

Authorities searched the vehicle and found $34,960, Calo said.
De Castro was arrested and charged with third-degree money laundering. He is scheduled to appear in Central Judicial Processing Court Feb. 14.
