Police Arrest 2 People On GWB In Possible Kidnapping

A loaded handgun, along with the alleged victim, was found in the vehicle Thursday morning, authorities said.

FORT LEE, N.J. — Two men were arrested in connection with a possible abduction after their vehicle was stopped at the George Washington Bridge Thursday morning, Port Authority officials said.

Port Authority Police officers stopped the vehicle at the bridge at 10:50 a.m. after the State Police issued an alert regarding a possible abduction, said Joe Pentangelo, a Port Authority spokesman.

Two men were taken into custody and a loaded 9mm Glock handgun was found in the vehicle, Pentangelo said.

The alleged victim was taken out of the vehicle and was treated at a local hospital for a laceration on his left leg, Pentangelo said.

An investigation is ongoing. Lanes on the bridge were closed for about 15 minutes during the incident.
