Sheriff's Office Sponsoring Child Seat Fitting Station
About two-thirds of car seats are fitted incorrectly, officials said.

The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office will host a child seat fitting station Tuesday.
Next week is National Child Passenger Safety Week, the sheriff’s office is looking to reduce the number of child car seats that are improperly installed.

Earlier this year, Gov. Chris Christie signed legislation that changes the way parents and caretakers must use car seats in the state of New Jersey. The changes went into effect Sept. 1.
The station will be held at the sheriff’s office complex at 327 East Ridgewood Ave. in Paramus beginning at 10 a.m. E-mail ChildCarSeat@bcsd.us to request an appointment.
