Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run In Fort Lee: Prosecutor

The woman was hit by a box truck and then a Mercedes-Benz, authorities said.

FORT LEE, NJ — A 61-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Main Street Wednesday afternoon, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was hit by a box truck heading west and then by a Mercedes-Benz SUV heading east, Calo said. The box truck remained at the scene, but the Mercedes-Benz did not, he said.

The prosecutor's office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit and the Fort Lee Police Department found the driver of the Mercedes-Benz and placed them in custody, Calo said.
