UPDATE: Woman Who Jumped From GWB Wednesday Was From North Jersey: Police
Woman jumped from the bridge's lower level on the New York side, police said.

FORT LEE, N.J. —Authorities have released the identity of the North Jersey woman who committed suicide from the George Washington Bridge Wednesday night.
The woman was Catherine Hughes, 36, of Clifton, police said.
Hughes jumped from the bridge's lower level near the New York tower at about 7 p.m. Wednesday, said Joe Pentangelo, a spokesman for the Port Authority Police Department.

Hughes' body was recovered and taken to Dyckman Pier where emergency medical services pronounced her dead, Pentangelo said.
Hughes is the eighth person to commit suicide by jumping from the bridge this year, according to Port Authority Police.
