Woman's Body Found At Ross Dock In Fort Lee

Body of a black woman in her mid 30s was found Monday night, police said.

FORT LEE, N.J. - The body of an unidentified black woman was found shortly before 7 p.m. at the Ross Dock in the Palisades Interstate Parkway, police said.

Two people reported finding a body at the dock when they were walking in the park and saw the body on the rocks on the north shore of the dock, Palisades Interstate Parkway police said.

Fort Lee and PIP police responded to the scene and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Authorities are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman's death. Authorities estimate she had been dead for two days when her body was discovered.

The woman was black in her mid 30s with brown eyes, very short black hair, and weighing between 200 and 225 pounds, police said. She was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a blue New York Knicks T-shirt.
