Richard Olate is the embodiment of the American Dream, growing up in South America as the child of a poor family, Richard got his start at 10 when he rescued his first street dogs and found he had a special gift. He combined this gift of training dogs and compassion with incredible hard work, enabling him to support his entire family by age 12 with his talented dog troupe. His dedication to his craft paid off when he came to the attention of a circus group and found himself performing in the United States. This Florida based circus performer career took an amazing turn when friends convinced him to audition for America’s Got Talent and the rest is a rags to riches story most just dream about.
Richard’s son, Nicholas Olate began working with his father at age 6. This gifted family of entertainers, while having a home base in Texas, say that their “real” home is on the road performing for wonderful audiences all across America. The dogs, many of them rescues, are all pampered members of the Olate family and travel in their own air conditioned, tricked out trailer. Richard’s dream of having his own dog variety show has come true Richard and Nicholas have even taken on a new type of performance, starring in a series of acclaimed short online films promoting shelter adoptions. They are also seen on national television for programs such as FOX’s Cause for Paws, the TODAY Show and the Tonight Show.
