FREEHOLD, NJ — A former Freehold Intermediate School teacher has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for committing sexual crimes against a teenage student, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.
During a hearing held on Friday before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Jill G. O'Malley, Allison Havemann-Niedrach, 45, of Jackson Township, was also ordered to serve a minimum of 85 percent of the term before the possibility of parole, in accordance with New Jersey's No Early Release Act (NERA).
Havemann-Niedrach's sentencing follows an investigation by the MCPO Special Victims Bureau and the Freehold Borough Police Department, which revealed that her criminal conduct started in January 2024 and continued for about six months before her arrest in June 2024.
According to Santiago, the conduct involved near-constant contact with her victim via many thousands of text messages.
A Monmouth County Grand Jury returned an indictment in the case in March 2025.
In January 2026, Havemann-Niedrach pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree aggravated sexual assault.
Her sentence also includes permanent forfeiture of public office, surrender of her teacher's license, Parole Supervision for Life, and registration as a sex offender under Megan's Law.
"We place such an immense degree of faith on our educators to always act in the best interests of their students, and it is difficult to conceive of a violation of that faith any more egregious than this," Santiago said.
"One of the most foundational and fundamental components of our service to the public is consistently ensuring that sexual predators of children are held fully accountable for their crimes," he continued.
The case was prosecuted by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Danielle Zanzuccki, Director of the Special Victims Bureau.
Havemann-Niedrach was represented by Matthew Mordas, Esq., with an office in Freehold.
