FREEHOLD, NJ — A former Freehold Intermediate School teacher has admitted to sexual crimes against a teen student, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.

During a hearing held before Monmouth County Superior Court Judge Jill G. O’Malley on Wednesday, Allison Havemann-Niedrach, 45, of Jackson Township, pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, Santiago said.

Havemann-Niedrach was arrested and charged after an investigation revealed that her criminal conduct began in January 2024 and continued for six months, prior to her arrest in June 2024, prosecutors said.

According to a report from the Asbury Park Press, police were alerted around the start of June about concerns the school's vice principal had regarding the relationship between Havemann-Niedrach and the victim.

When police later questioned the victim, the report said he denied anything was going on between him and Havemann-Niedrach and claimed he was dating the teacher’s daughter.

Once the victim turned his phone over to police, authorities discovered over 25,000 text messages between Havemann-Niedrach and the victim, according to the report.

A few days later, the victim’s mother contacted the police and told them that her son admitted that he had been in a sexual relationship with Havemann-Niedrach.

Due to concerns for the victim’s mental health, the report said he was brought to a hospital to be evaluated.

Havemann-Niedrach was arrested without incident in June 2024 and was a special education teacher at Freehold Intermediate School since March 2022, according to Patch’s previous reporting.

In March 2025, a Monmouth County Grand Jury returned an indictment in the case, prosecutors said.

Sentencing in this case has been tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 7, authorities said.

According to prosecutors, the state intends to seek a 12-year term in state prison, forfeiture of public office, surrender of the defendant’s teacher license, Parole Supervision for Life, and registration as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, with 85 percent of the sentence to be served before the possibility of parole under New Jersey's No Early Release Act (NERA).

Anyone with further information about this defendant’s activities is asked to contact the MCPO Special Victims Bureau at 800-533-7443.

This case is being prosecuted by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Danielle Zanzuccki, Director of the Special Victims Bureau. Havemann-Niedrach is being represented by Matthew Mordas, Esq., with an office in Freehold.
