FREEHOLD, NJ — A new project is underway at Freehold Raceway Mall that aims to give the shopping center's upper-level entrances "a fresh, more welcoming look," mall officials said.
This exterior hardscape project combines new pavers and concrete and is the latest in a series of recent openings and renovations at the mall.
The first phase of the project will focus on walkways at two upper-level entrances, near The Cheesecake Factory and JCPenney.
Work will continue through Fall 2026, weather permitting, with the full hardscape project expected to wrap up in 2027.
Both entrances will remain open to shoppers during construction. Shoppers should follow posted detour signs to access the entrance doors.
"We want every guest to feel welcome the moment they arrive, and this project does exactly that," said Frank Lucia, General Manager of Freehold Raceway Mall.
"It's been nearly 20 years since we opened in 2007, and it's time for a facelift," Lucia continued. "We've worked hard to refresh the inside of the center, and now it's time to bring that same energy to the outside."
Updates on the project's progress will be shared on the mall website and on Freehold Raceway Mall's social media channels.
Freehold Raceway Mall is located at 3710 U.S. 9, Freehold.
