Barnabas Health Hosts Narcan Distribution, Training and Education Sessions in April

Community Medical Center, a Barnabas Health facility, will host a Narcan distribution, training and education session on Thursday, April 23 at 6 p.m. at the hospital, located at 99 Route 37 in Toms River. The programs, held in Conference Rooms A & B on the first floor, are available for anyone at risk of an opioid overdose or their family and friends.

All participants will receive a FREE Narcan (naloxone) kit and a treatment voucher for 30 days of free substance abuse treatment to use or distribute to any person that needs medication-assisted treatment. In addition, education will be provided on how to administer Narcan to reverse a heroin/opioid overdose by credentialed counselors and licensed nurses. They will also receive ‘hands on’ practice of rescue breathing and naloxone administration.

Each of these training sessions will be limited to 25 participants on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Parking is available in the parking garage.
