Borough Asks Residents to Remove Cars From Roads

Park in driveways to allow emergency vehicles to get around during storm.

Freehold Borough officials are asking residents remove vehicles parked on the municipality's roads. The request was made Friday in advance of Hurricane Irene, which is expected to begin impacting the area late Saturday, Aug. 27. The brunt of the storm should hit New Jersey on Sunday, Aug. 28.

Cars should be brought in off the borough’s roads to allow emergency vehicles to safely pass during the hurricane.

The message was sent through Freehold Borough’s email alert system. Residents can subscribe to the email notification program by contacting Pat Ruegger at pruegger@freeholdboro.org.
