Chick-Fil-A, Wawa Proposed For Route 9 In Freehold Township

The two stores are part of a five-building retail site that would be named Elton Plaza that is set to go before the Planning Board.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Freehold Township Planning Board is scheduled to hear an application Thursday evening to build a new retail plaza on Route 9 that would be home to a Wawa and a Chick-fil-A.

The agenda for the 7 p.m. meeting says the two stores are among five retail sites that are part of the proposed Elton Plaza, which would be at 3301 Route 9, at the intersection of Route 9 and Elton Adelphia Road.

The 5,150-square-foot Chick-fil-A and the Wawa, a 5.051-square-foot store with fuel pumps, would be part of the first phase of the project, which also would include a 13,600-square-foot "multi-tenant" building.

The second phase of the project would be two more buildings, one 14,724 square feet with a drive-through, and the second a 2,084-square-foot fast-food restaurant with a drive-through, with the potential tenant not yet named.

The developer is M&M Realty Partners at Freehold.
