Call for Entries Deadline: Monmouth County’s Jewish Experience in Pictures: A Photography Exhibit
The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County is issuing a call for entries into an open juried photography exhibit which will be held at the Museum from Sept. 20, 2011 to March 4, 2012. The goal of the exhibit is to capture in pictures, through the art of photography, Monmouth County’s Jewish experience. Subject content, such as architecture, history, people, traditions, places, things, family, faith and community may all inspire artful images.
The competition is open to all photographers both professional and amateur, working in film or digital format. Professional photographers will be judged separately from amateurs. Images must have been photographed in Monmouth County to qualify, although participants need not reside in the county. Judges for the contest are professional award-winning photographer and owner of Coachman Studios in Freehold Allan Goldberg FC, CPP, professional photographer and award-winning portrait image maker and owner of Ardmore Custom Photography in Howell, Richard Stromwasser, and Rabbi Sally J Priesand, America’s first female rabbi, aspiring photographer and abstract water colorist who has exhibited her work frequently.
Prizes will be awarded in each category. A registration fee of $20 for one entry and $35 for two will be assessed for non-member applicants and $18 and $30 for museum members. The deadline for registration is Thursday, Aug. 25.
