The Italian-American Association of Monmouth County is sponsoring a free outdoor concert with world-class tenor Salvatore Chiarelli at The Feast of San Gennaro on East Main Street in Freehold from 4 to 5 p.m.
Chiarelli will be performing popular, traditional and classical Italian/Neapolitan songs, Italian opera, Italian/American love ballads, and more.
Some of the recent operatic lead roles performed by Mr. Chiarelli are Turridu in the opera Cavalleria Rusticana with the Brooklyn Repertory Opera. With overwhelmingly positive reviews, Salvatore gave a repeat performance with The West Side Opera in Manhattan. Because of his success with Turridu Mr. Chiarelli was offered the role of Canio in the Capital Opera’s production of I Pagliacci treating the Harrisburg, PA audience to “ a truly splendid evening of Leoncavallo,” as one reviewer wrote.
