Fire Levels Freehold Township Home

No one was injured in the blaze that took seven hours to extinguish

A Freehold Township home was destroyed by fire that firefighters battled for seven hours on Friday, according to the Asbury Park Press.

There were no injuries reported in the three-alarm fire on English Path, according to the report. It appeared to have started in the kitchen and then spread to the entire residence. Monmouth County Fire Marshall Rick Hogan is investigating the fire, along with Freehold Township Police Officers William Ketelaar and Richard Gregg, the report said.

One of the home’s owners, Natalie Pantelo, was home at the time of the fire, as was a dog belonging to another resident of the house. Pantelo called 911 to report the fire; the dog was rescued by a neighbor, the report said.

The East Freehold Fire Company, on its Facebook page, said the battle to extinguish the fire took seven hours: “Great job today by all involved, we battled extreme cold for 7 hours but, in the end everyone came home safe. Special thanks to our brothers from Freehold Boro, Freehold Twp, Marlboro, Adelphia, Freehold First Aid Squad and Gordons Corner for standing by for us!”

Also responding were the Freehold First Aid, the EMS Task Force and the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Mobile Command Unit, according to the Press.
