Freehold Township Man Charged In Theft Of Suitcase Full Of Toddler Clothing: Police

The man was identified by the Freehold Township Police Department, police said.

HOWELL, NJ — A Freehold Township man has been charged with theft in connection with a suitcase containing toddler clothing that was stolen from the lobby of a restaurant, Howell police said.

Bret J. Horowitz, 42, of Freehold Township, was identified by the Freehold Township Police Department, Howell Detective Sgt. Christian Antunez said.

He is accused of being the man seen on surveillance footage stepping into the lobby of the Dynasty Asian Fusion restaurant at the Howell Center Plaza on Sept. 23, grabbing the suitcase and leaving, Antunez said.

The suitcase belonged to an employee of the restaurant who was moving her 3-year-old child’s clothing and brought it to the restaurant temporarily, Antunez said. She had left the suitcase in the lobby for less than 30 minutes, he said.

Antunez said the clothing was recovered and returned to the owner of the suitcase.

Horowitz has been charged with theft and was released after processing, Antunez said.
