Fusha: New Secret Spot for Good Asian Fusion

Eat well without traveling far.

is Freehold's newest secret, a little place hidden away just off the main strip on South Street. It's Asian Fusion, which means they specialize in a little bit of everything, from Japanese to Thai to Chinese.

You're greeted by a waterfall as you enter and a few steps later you're in a clean and neatly arranged restaurant. Fusha is a play on the owner's last name Fu and has nothing to do with the color of the same-sounding name.

There's a lot to choose from, but sushi dominates the menu. There are Thai favorites like Pad Thai and even some Vietnamese inspired shrimp rolls.

If you're not in a sushi or Thai mood you can mix and match three different vegetables and get them in brown sauce or white ginger sauce with your choice of white or brown rice for a healthy treat. Of course, you can also choose from all the classic Chinese fare as well.

One of my favorite quick meals is ordering the Japanese Fried Rice with only asparagus, bean sprouts and egg. The fried rice is lightly fried and none of the seasoning or oil is too overwhelming--just the right mix of everything.

Other favorites are Singapore thin rice noodle, pad Thai, Thai pineapple fried rice, General Tso's chicken, steamed platters, sushi bar selections and chicken teriyaki.

Check out their always revolving specials. Right now you can get lunch specials from $4.95 to $8.25, certain entrees are 30 percent off after 6:30 p.m., and the restaurant is offering a grand opening special of 15 percent off deliveries. You can't beat that!

Fusha is located on 27 South Street, just off Main Street in Freehold.
