While most locations throughout the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas will start the week with dry conditions, a few disturbances will keep the threat for isolated showers and thunderstorms in the forecast.

The disturbances will lead to the threat for isolated showers and thunderstorms. The strongest thunderstorms will feature wind gusts over 60 mph, hail, frequent lightning, and very heavy downpours. Otherwise, scattered cloud cover can be expected. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures this afternoon will rise into the lower to mid 80's. Temperatures tomorrow will range from the mid to upper 60's for lows and mid to upper 80's for highs.
On Wednesday, a more tropical air mass will invade the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas. Showers and thunderstorms will be widely scattered as more disturbances invade from the Tennessee River Valley. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will range from the upper 60's to lower 70's for lows and upper 80's to lower 90's for highs.

A strong cold front will move through the northern Mid Atlantic on Thursday with widespread showers and strong to severe thunderstorms. The strongest thunderstorms will be capable of wind gusts over 60 mph, frequent lightning, heavy downpours, and hail. Low temperatures will be in the lower to mid 70's. High temperatures will be in the upper 80's to lower 90's.
Canadian high pressure will be in place for Friday on through Sunday with clear skies to scattered clouds. Low temperatures will be in the lower to mid 60's. High temperatures will be in the lower to mid 80's.
