FREEHOLD, N.J.— After two years of cancellations and modifications, residents in cities and counties across the country are looking forward to many of the traditional Independence Day activities that mark the summer holiday. July 4 is tomorrow, so there's still time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks are going on near you in 2022.
We have all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Freehold and Freehold Township so you can start planning now.

July 4 festivities
What: Independence Day Concert and Fireworks.
Where: Freehold Raceway, 130 Park Ave., Freehold, 07728.
When: July 3, 5:30 p.m.
The Independence Day Concert and Fireworks will be on Sunday, July 3, at Freehold Raceway. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., according to the borough.
There will be live entertainment by the Rock & Roll Chorus, Lil Asmar & Garden State Prodigies, RockitFish. Kason Jackson will sing the Star Spangled Banner. Radio stations WRAT & WJRZ will provide music for fireworks and food vendors will be on hand.
No pets, coolers or backpacks are permitted. Blankets and folding chairs are permitted.
On the morning of July 4, there is a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 9 a.m. at Borough Hall, 30 Mechanic St.
