New Freehold Health Center Puts Families First
Assemblywoman Joann Downey joined CentraState and Freehold residents to celebrate the opening of a new family health center.

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP - CentraState Healthcare System and its partners, the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Health Group, VNA of Central New Jersey, and the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School Family Medicine Residency Program at CentraState invited local community members and elected officials to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of the new Freehold Family Health Center at 597 Park Avenue this Tuesday.
State Assemblywoman Joann Downey joined CentraState and its partners to commend their efforts to provide community-based medical care at this official event, presenting a joint Senate and Assembly proclamation recognizing CentraState’s efforts and contributions.
“We’re glad to see the Freehold Family Health Center expanding access to healthcare for the entire community,” Downey (D-Freehold) said. “We’ve seen the good work that CentraState, the Visiting Nurse Association, and the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School have been able to do elsewhere in Monmouth County, and we’re hopeful that this new partnership will help give our residents the services they need.”

The Center will be operated by VNACJ Community Health Center, Inc., and will provide both comprehensive primary and specialty care, including geriatrics. Bilingual staff will also be on-site to assist patients who do not use English as a primary language.
“When you design a program around the needs and input of your community, like CentraState has done here, it gets a lot easier to help the folks who live there,” said Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling (D-Neptune), who serves alongside Downey in the State Assembly. “That’s why it’s so important to encourage and support programs like this in their efforts to help residents navigate the healthcare system and keep their families healthy.”
