NJ Man Dies After Snowmobile Crashes Into Tree, Police Say
The crash occurred late Friday night on a trail in upstate New York, police said.
CREAM RIDGE, NJ — A New Jersey man has died following a snowmobile accident in New York on Friday night, New York State Police said.
At 11:10 p.m. on Friday, police responded to a reported snowmobile accident on a trail about ½ mile behind 253 County Road 111 in the town of Caroga Lake.
Preliminary investigation into the crash revealed that Stephen J. Banks, 54, of Cream Ridge, was driving a snowmobile when it failed to negotiate a curve in the trail and struck a tree, police said.

Following the crash, members of the Caroga Lake Fire Department performed life-saving measures, and St. Johnsville Ambulance brought Banks to Nathan Littaeur Hospital in Gloversville, where he was pronounced deceased.
Investigation into the accident is ongoing, according to police.
