• X-rays show 8-foot python found in New Jersey backyard swallowed a large possum (thecooldown.com) — An 8-foot Burmese python was safely captured after a Freehold homeowner spotted it slithering beside a backyard shed, its belly swollen from swallowing a possum. Monmouth County SPCA officers removed the non-native snake, now in a reptile specialist's care, and are urging exotic pet owners in the area not to release unwanted animals into the wild.
