• Bruce Springsteen sends message to his ancestral hometown in Ireland (nj.com subscription) — Freehold's special connection to Bruce Springsteen's ancestral town in Rathangan, Ireland just got a boost, with a new "twinning" celebration and symbolic copper beech trees linking the two communities. Springsteen sent a warm video message for the Irish festival, while his family helped plant a matching tree at the Monmouth County Historical Association in Freehold earlier this summer.
